Awesome Opportunity for ALL Illinois Licensed K-12 Math and Science Teachers
ARE YOU READY TO CHANGE THE WORLD?
Math K- 8 Sessions: These  sessions are FULL

Week 1: July 13-17; 8:00-5 p.m.  at Illinois Valley Community College

Receive training on INTEL Math, which focuses on deepening teachers' content knowledge and understanding of K-8 math instruction. 

 

Week 2: July 20-24; 8:00-5 p.m.

at Illinois Valley Community College

The second week of training will focus on Illinois' Model Math Curriculum. 

 

Math 9-12 Sessions:

Only 2 spots left!

Week 1: July 13-17; 8:00-5:00 p.m. 

Week 2: July 20-24; 8:00-5:00 p.m.

 

These two weeks will focus on Illinois' Model Math curriculum for high school. This integrated math approach will have teachers learn how to use mathematical practices in all math content areas.

 

 

Science Sessions for both k-8 and 9-12:

Week 1: July 13-15; 8:00-5:00

Week 2: July 20-22; 8:00-5:00

Week 3: July 27-30; 8:00-5:00

 

This training will focus on the Next Generation Science Exemplar System or NGSX.  This is a web-based PD environment designed to engage teachers in the major ideas of the National Research Council's Framework for K-12 Science Education and the student performance expectation found in the Next Generation Science Standards.

 

 

Learn from Specially Trained University Professors (See Professor Pages Below) in the fields of math and science and bring your classroom back to life (plus you will be paid for the training!) 

 

 A stipend of $2000 will be paid to all participants that complete the training.

  • Any 7-12 teacher who is endorsed in science and is interested in improving their understanding of and instructional strategies in science and engineering processes as aligned to the NGSS.

  • Any special education, ELL, and CTE teachers who are interested in improving their understanding of and instructional strategies in science and engineering processes as aligned to the NGSS.
